Stepping away from my usual mix of romance and fantasy, I decided to try this book after a friend’s glowing recommendation—and I’m so glad I did! The writing felt so natural and engaging, making it an easy, enjoyable read. Normally, alternating perspectives tend to throw me off, but in this story, it was handled perfectly and actually made the plot even better.
The story itself was fantastic—it had me hooked the whole way through! Sure, the main character wasn’t exactly the brightest, but honestly, that just made everything more fun. Their choices added a charm and unpredictability that kept things interesting. If they had been too smart or flawless, the story might’ve lost some of its appeal. And don’t even get me started on that ending—completely jaw-dropping! Just when I thought I had everything figured out, the book threw a curveball that totally stunned me. My guesses were way off, but that just made the final reveal even more satisfying.
If you’re unsure about stepping outside your go-to genres, I’d absolutely say: give this one a shot. It’s such a great reminder of how taking risks with books can lead to some amazing surprises. Highly recommend!
